Gathering In Elvis Town

Don...we gonna meet at Aunt Eunice's? or do you have a druther?

When is this gathering??? I missed the first thread. Memphis is a three hour drive from here, (OK, four at Midget speeds.) Is this a tech session oriented gathering, an open house oriented gathering, or a Guiness oriented gathering? I'm interested.

I believe everyone is planning on arriving at Tom Bedenbaugh's Import & Sports shop around 12:00 P.M. this Friday (August 15th). Its going to be a casual get together with BBQ, courtesy of Joe Reed, and maybe some tech sessions from Tom.

I counted 8 people off this forum are going!

Get the Midget ready!!

I think what I will do, David. If you would like, we will go through a major tune up on your car. That will include checking points gap, timing, valve ajustment, compression test, syncronizing carbs, and checking mixture. Then I might go through the proper way to build an MGB frontend.

WHOA!!! what an opportunity! I was just going up to hang out, pick up a car & restock my MGB air conditioning parts supply....however, to watch the master at work!!!

Do I need to post this on the national happenings forum?

Andre...if you're coming, lemme know...looks like we're up to around 8 people right now!

WOW!!!

Sounds good Tom!

We can rebuild my front end! or at least put the lower a-arm bushings in.

I was hoping to putter my way down there and have you guys check out my crate. Another time perhaps.

It sounds like lots of fun.

Sure Chuck, as long as you Email me some copys. You know guys there a Motel about 2 miles from the shop if any of you are going to want to stay over. I think it's a Best Western, but I'm not sure. I'll have to look tomarroew on the way to the shop. It's going to be imposible to get a room in Mid town or anywhere near Graceland. Those places are booked years in advance. There are some people who have a standing reservation for this week.

Now if you want to come up with the $$$$$ I can knock that frontend job right out, and you'll be done with it.

Some time ago, we rebuilt an MGB front suspension beam in the restaurant during one of our club meetings....granted we'd disassembled, cleaned, sourced parts, etc so all we had to do was assemble, however...

What about the kingpin bushings, V8 bushings, modifying the distance tube to get grease to the lower fulcrum pin,and cleaning and repacking the axel bearings. All part of a good frontend rebuild.

we reamed/set kingpins before meeting so we only had to assemble...didn't modify, just rebuilt as stock...took about 2 to 2-1/2 hours to reassemble with all the prework....

Winter project is to rebuild the front end!
