Gasoline shelf life

My Healey has been in the body shops over a year now. The gas tank is full of gas. Should I empty the gas or is it OK to use. Anything happen to gas if not used? What is the shelf life of gas? If it does have a shelf life, what happens if you use it after that? Thanks guys, Roger

Gas will deteriorate. This may involve contaminants like water and dirt getting into it, and evaporation leaving a thicker and less useable fuel, it can also become a little "gummy".

Stabilizers are available for long term storage, but they won't reverse any deterioration that's already happened.

The tank could be drained- particularly if the end isn't yet in sight....
