Gasket questions - engine 3000 MK I

These days I am putting my engine together, and have some questions that I can`t find out by reading the book by Bently.
I have bought a complete gasket set, there is a gasket that looks like it fits between the engine block and the tachometer housing; should there be a gasket there ?
The top gasket between the engine block and the cylinder head should be marked "top", but my gasket was not. I put the bronze side up, is this right ?
(I have already put the top on and it is easier to ask, then to remove the top again).

Hi Karl,
I don't know about the tach drive gasket. Head gaskets do not all have two colors. The short rolled over edge located around the cylinders goes toward the block. I don't know if this is bronze side up.

KCH, Aftermarket gaskets that have only one side covered in "Bronze"-Copper will have the Bronze side up. Gaskets that are made like originals Copper on both sides will be stamped "This Side Up".The Distributor gasket was dropped some time before the 29K engine came along. Will not hurt to put the Gasket in there if it fits--FWIW--Keoke
