I no longer have my '3 but recall the diff gasket I got from a West Coast supplier was useless - holes simply did not match up.

Easy enough to make my own and use better material while I was at it.

Yes mine too. I purchased some hole punches from leather hobby store and they helped with making gasket holes nice.

As suggested, better off to make your own. The ones you buy, even if they fit, are just too thin. Hard to get them to not leak. The stuff I used is about 0.030" thick and hasn't leaked in years.

We had a similar issue with Austin-Healey gaskets and found if we soaked them in water overnight they seemed to fit much better

I think someone shipped you a TR4-A IRS diff cover gasket instead of a TR3-TR4 diff cover gasket.
See pics.

I called and spoke to them. They swore it was right and I just did not orient it the right way. Flipped it every way possible and sent pictures…. Basically they answer was to credit me for the gasket!!? I would rather have one that fits…. Very frustrating. It is almost like they threw up there hands with the why bother attitude. It makes me wonder it they just don’t care or if you have to hit a certain price point before they would investigate the issue. Lesson learned I guess.

Did you explain to the weenies on the other end of the phone that the covers are different.
The number of holes are the different in the gaskets, 8 holes for the TR4, 10 holes for the TR4-A IRS.
Extra holes in the TR4-A IRS are for some dowel pins, housing is also wider.
Guess customer service/tech service in out the window.
