TR2/3/3A Gas tank to pipe connector....

I'd like to wrap the threads of the connector with some sort of tape to ensure a good seal....would gas eat teflon tape?....is there a tape that is impervious to gas?
 
Teflon is not affected by gas, but isn't that a flared or compression fitting? If it is the Teflon will lubricate the nut, but won't help the seal.
