OK, it's done! Switched from positive to negative earth, put in the new fuel pump (Airtex) and did the alternator for generator swap. Test drove it, and it ran like a champ, and was charging great. The next morning the battery was dead as the proverbial doornail. (Anybody ever seen a live doornail?). So I came to the BCF, checked into some old threads, and saw where there were other folks who had the same problem with the conversion kit from Moss. The solution in the thread was to remove the single wire (a ground wire) from the F terminal on the regulator. So I went back out to the garage, disconnected the battery, charged it back up, reconnected it and removed the wire from the F terminal. Left it alone from 3 PM yesterday until this morning, went out, talked nicely to it, and it fired right up, fully charged. Can it really be that simple???
