Sure glad I don't use diesel fuel, and really feel bad for the truckers who have to buy it daily.

As an aside, I find it fascinating (hilarious) that at least here Dodge trucks current promotion is a 'free' upgrade to a Diesel engine.

As another aside and on a slightly more positive note, at least here at my local Costco, gas prices have been slowing falling over the past several weeks. When I first started paying attention and tracking it, regular was $4.79 / gal (at Costco). Then, a week later, it was $4.59, then $4.29, $4.19 and finally, a couple weeks ago it was below $4 (ok, it was $3.99, but still). The last time I filled up just the other day, it was down to $3.79. I just checked online and at two of the three Costcos in town it is currently down to $3.66. I don't know if $4.79 is as high as it got this year, but it's the highest that I personally experienced. As bad as $4.79 was, it was even higher in the summer of 2022, when it reached $4.86/ gal at my local Costco. This of course doesn't speak to the still outrageous Diesel Prices, which peaked at $6.41/gal in September (again, local Costco) and are currently around $6.01. Last year it was $3.47 in September, so it is still 73% higher than this time last year, even though it has fallen slightly (40 cents) recently.

I remember back in the day, when I was a much younger lad, diesel was much cheaper than regular gas. So much so that car manufacturers started making more diesel cars to appeal to the economically minded. Not so much these days!

I remember when I took a trip to Denver to deliver a Consul Capri, towing with
our '93 GMC Suburban ( 454 gas engine).It weighed 6800 pounds,& held about
42 gallons of gas.
I found out that I could only buy $75.00's worth with my VISA card,& would
a message on the pump "SEE ATTENDANT INSIDE" .I had to prove that it was me,
& that my card wasn't stolen. Now I notify the credit card company when I'll be
traveling.
I got really excited when I got double digit mileage! When towing,I usually
got about 7.5 mpg.
