MGB-GT Gas mileage on 69' mgb gt?

What should my stock 69 mgb gt be getting.
I just had a thorough service including new needles and adjustment on the su carbs.
Before I was getting about 9 miles per gallon. Now it seems like 13-14 mostly in city with a little highway.
What should these old babies be getting?
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

It depends on driving conditions, state of tune, how the car is set up, your driving style, etc. Typically you should see something in the low 20's city, high 20's highway. I sometimes get high teens in the city because I have a bit of a lead foot, and I've seen as high as 34 on a highway trip where I was driving as efficiently as possible. This is on a mostly stock '67 BGT.

My '69 convertible gets about 22 to 25 mpg. I live in a suburban area of New Jersey with a fair number of traffic lights, stop-and-go traffic, etc.

I'm pretty gentle with the car and the engine is in good tune. Also proper tire inflation, 10W-30 engine oil, decent alignment, etc.

I'm know I got a little better than that on one fairly long highway trip last year.

I will add that when I had my BGT I got low 20s in town and high 20s on the highway (sleek aerodynamics of the coupe!)
