Gas Milage

I have unlimited mpg. Haven't been able to get the car on the roads yet, and haven't figured out how to repair the missing needle on the gas gauge.

Let's see - zero divided by zero is ...

Wow... 33 - 35 is quite a bit! I KNOW I am not getting that much... or at least it seems that way! But then again, I have a 76, with all of the emmissions gear intact.... I should expect it to eat more gas.

Tom, let me get my calculator out for that one... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

When I started driving my TR6 I was somewhat disappointed at the mileage. But this car is 30 years old and my others were new. I also wonder if the leaded gas was somewhat better for mileage.

Oh, I forgot, in those days I only went downhill! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I also drove with the wind and my tires were round....most of all I really did not care much because gas was less then 30 cents per gallon! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

The gauge on my TR3 is a joke. Fill it up and it stays on full for 100 miles then drops to 5/8 all at once. I just reset the trip odometer when I fill up, when it gets to 175 it's time for gas.
I have found over the years that gas will be one of cheapest things about owing an old car. Most of us will pay more for a set of tires than we will for gas in a year.

INFINITY!
No wait; that's Japanese isn't it?

Yupper, gasoline in a non-cost.

Crypty's other misc costs run about
$510 per mile.

That number will keep dropping for you Dale. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

Yupper Shawn, it will.

I am going to attempt a 40 mile r/t
with Crypty on Sunday. If the car makes
it, that should shave off maybe $100 per mile!!

Nice sunrise here on the island. Leaving shortly
for a day aboard Tres Gatos and a little offshore
fishing looking for mahi mahi or wahoos.

Looked at my fuel gauge today, and realized it was on E. Flat on E. I panicked! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Lucky I was close to a gas station and got some petrol within a nick of time.

My millage in my six? 17.64 miles per gallon.

Crappy millage... but better then an old 351w I used to have which gave me 7 MPG! :-0
