Garage Gremlines Stole another part!

Can't find the top half of the rear main bearing cap, the part that attaches with 3 bolts and sticks out part the rear engine plate.

I need this to continue putting together a 1275 engine. I had it when I took the engine apart, searched through all my baggies -- it's gone.

Question: Does anyone have a spare? Can I buy a new one?

I have a 1098 engine sitting on the floor that I could remove that rear engine plate and then take of it's seal - but that's a last resort (I'm assuming the one from a 1098 engine will fit the 1275)

Any thoughts?

Just bringing this back to the top of this list again.
I had hoped that someone might have one of these lying around. But....sounds like no such luck.

Time to take it from the 1098....

Can't help you with your part, but if you find where those gremlins are stashing all of our parts, you could start on heck of an eBay business /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

That's for sure. I wonder if they know the other Gremlin Union that steals socks from the dryer.

I was able to get the part from another board. But I've also gotten the advice that I should line-bore the engine with the scroll in place.

Time to tear the engine down.....
