Garage find

St. Andrews is very nice to visit.

When we first came here we went for a day out and wandered around the Derelict Cathedral and its graveyard.

I just happended to find a "James Wilson" buried there...
and then another...
and another...

and it didn't seem propitious to keep looking...

what if I found an empty hole?

We prowled the cemeteries too...luckily my name...quaif...is rare so I didn't find any graves, filled or otherwise with my name. My relatives came over from England in the late 1800s, were mostly hops growers in upstate NY. Guess thats why so many people in my family have enjoyed the end product..often.

OK I guess this has just been hijacked - we were in Scotland (Edinburgh) this summer and found one of my wife's ancestors' grave (MacDonald of Clan Ranald) in the abbey attached to Holyrood Palace - very cool

Back to the Kelmark...I had to go to the shop today and do a few little things to the wife's Mustang GT...people started showing up to see..sit in...and hear the thing run. The more it runs the smoother it gets. If it straightens out I'll cruise it tomorrow. The more I look at it the better it gets too. AND..the biggie. My wife came down and sat or maybe you could call it falling into the thing. She actually likes it. I may have to keep that old woman.....

and by that you mean the car right?

Nope...she has two sisters...one older, one younger. I tell everyone I got the pick of the litter...that kinda winds her up. We just hit 40 years the 5th. of July..but have known each other a bit longer...we went to kindergarten together..went together all thru school. Kinda corny I guess but we still manage to like each other(a little.....) and we only argue if she yells at my weinerdog..shes sensitive....

 Indeed!

I've been tinkering on this Kelmark and yesterday wrestled the bolt on Claude's Buggies valve covers off...Somehow both intake pushrods had popped off the rocker arms...strange. Pulled everthing apart, reshimmed and readjusted everything and other than badly gas diluted oil..everything works now. Drained and flushed crankcase, left everything to air out and am now on the way to pick up a case of oil and service it. I posted the car on a VW site, am taking it to a local show this week-end(my fourth in four weeks) and will list it on evil-bay after that. I'd love to keep it but with all the Mgs, the 911 and the Mustangs...I have to be realistic.

I have the bugs and gremlins chased off and decided to drive it to the local C-store and fill it with the top unleaded...all I can say is Good Gawd..does that thing ever scoot!! It drew too much attention so I took it back to the shop....where it will stay until it goes with the CGT...and hopefully my 911 as the new engine will be here tomorrow..to the local car show downtown. Every year out town has a special day, ethnic fair, lots of food, music and just plain fu. Part of lower Main St. is the original brick and is blocked off for the occasion. My toys and my gang of pals are going to hijack one area so if anyone wants to break away and mingle, someone can watch all the cars. Biggest problem is that little kids want to climb in the cars....parents just let them as its easier than watching them....ggggrrrr
