I was just thinking about the reassembly of Ms Triss - hopefully it won't be long now. When I got here, there was no fuse box cover. I'm sure it's not too difficult to get - but - would it make more sense just to buy a new fusebox from a supply store (ie -just a generic one)

thoughts?
 
Just for info, Bugeyes had no fuse box cover.
 
You might try an electronics place like Digi-Key or Mouser. They might have such a fuse box, perhaps even with some extra positions for future expansion. The standard-size fuse used in LBCs is also used extensively in electronics. Usually in single holders, but I suspect multiple holders are easily available too.
 
I just bought a cover to replace my non-existant cover from VB couple weeks ago, think it was around 8 bucks & it even says "Lucas" Made in England on it - perfect !
 
If you wanted to replace the box and were willing to do a bit mussing with your wiring, you can get a 4 slot blade-type fuse holder at your local big parts chain for about $8. (that's $8 US, so it will probably be roughly $7.90 CD :wink: ).

However, I would just buy the cover... or run it without a cover as I do.

One think you may want to do while you have the box out is to go over all the connectors with a piece of sand paper. Then coat them with "Bulb Grease" or some other electrical connector grease.

I lost my brake lights at night on a busy highway due to a dirty fuse receptacle.
