Fuse block repair

In the process of cleaning up my TR3 fuse block with screw connectors a thin metal clip running opposite direction of fuses crumbled. Any ideas on where to get the clip or how to make one. (this clip sets under the fuses and fits around the center peg and runs opposite the fuses.

Help greatly appreciated. I hate to trash the thing for such a simple problem.

Fuse blocks need to be replaced if there is any condition issue. You might be surprised how many gremlins go away when there are clean connections and new fuses.....

That clip doesn't do anything critical, it only holds the spare fuses in place. I've never seen it for sale separately, but you could probably fabricate one from some sheet brass or even steel.

But it's probably easier to find another fuse block that has some more serious problem, and you can rob the clip from. At least on the one I just looked it, it's held in place with a rivet, but a small bolt should make an adequate substitute. I doubt even the most exacting concours judge would look down in there to see the bolt head instead of a rivet.

Sounds like it is the clip that holds the 2 spare fuses in place... if so then it's condition is not a part of any electrical function.

Doubtful it can be obtained separately. I have never looked closely at it but since people made it the first time around I think a crafty sort might be able to fashion a replacement. The metal is springy to tension the spares in place but as I recall it is much springier than is really called for so perhaps tempered metal it not really needed, just something with a little 'give'.

Thanks all,
That is good to know. I will play around with creating one. I'M Getting excited, I should have my painted body home soon and the assembly begins.
