..as if THAT were necessary, BUT: I'm digging thru parts piles inna garage under a workbench, lookin' for an Alfa 1750 F.I. pump for a fellow BCF'r. So far haven't found that thing. What I HAVE come across so-far: One box containing TWO sets of used (up) MGB 3-synchro tranny layshafts & laygears, bearings and balk rings. A timing chain "chest" from a 1600cc Alfa, fuel filter housings for same, miscellaneous cables, locksets, brackets, all GTV. Three Wagner iron cooking skillets, two drain snakes, one Alfa used waterpump, an alternator needing a diode pack, a "Rigid" pipe threading tool...

And this is just the "surface layer"!!! Is scrap steel worth anything? I'm keepin' the aluminum. :jester:
 
250$ a ton here. I just checked because I have 1500cc paperweight.

On a related note, here’s a guy who replaced his Spica FI pump with a Bosch unit.

I can’t say I’d do it quite the same way, but it shows that (at least for his car) it’s pretty easy to do.

I was under the impression that the 1750 Spica pump was a mechanical pump / fuel distributor, driven by a timing belt off the front of the engine. I had a similar unit on a 1972 Giulia Beritone 2000. I think it was first around 1981 that they went to the Bosch L-Jetronic.
 
That's the "pump" I'm talkin' here. It's ~someplace~ and haven't located it yet. SPICA mechanical. I have another one bolted up to a 2L but it's so tired it allows fuel bypass around the pistons when hot and vapor locks at the injector lines. That's nothing to pass on to a friend!
 
Well, the guy's sig line says he drives a '73 GTV and he does say he's replacing a Spica pump. Not sure what the deal is there.

Me, I had actually stopped at a used car dealer to check out a '74 Alfetta when I found a (now <span style="font-style: italic">my</span>) Jensen hiding in the corner of the lot. So I never did get to wrestle with Spica.

I still have a craving for a Montreal though.
