Funny words thread

"Snot Otter" - my new favorite animal name.
Nickname for an Eastern hellbender salamander.

I've been thinking about words that are spelled the same, pertain to same subject, but are pronounced differently. Like "live" the verb and "live" the adjective. I have a vague recall that "forte" is pronounced with the "e" (as "a") in music but without sounding the "e" where reference is to a skill in another field. Need to check OED next library trip. These seem hard to come by.

Don't you have another room to rehab? :popworm::smile:

And twisting the rules a bit ...

I traded my fresh carrot for a one carat diamond, suspended on a 24 karat gold chain - not 24^2!

(Sure is hard to find a mathematics caret symbol!)

OK - back to my cave.
