Just bought my son a used "shusshh (Mitsubishi Eclipse)" for a graduation present and drove it home...I can remember not that many years ago when "as a staunch American" I would never dream of buying...shusshhh again" an IMPORT!..If it didn't start with a C or an F it wasn't going in my garage...I'm now older and the world has gotten smaller...I've collected a couple English and Duestch made vehciles and I have to admit...this Eclipse is ONE SWEET RIDE....man do I love sports cars..and you know what it's still GREAT to be an AMERICAN!!!

Ok I'm off the podium now and feeling much better..
I'll have another sip and .THANKS!

Dee-troit buried their collective heads inna sand as the Japanese rolled over 'em with things like: "reliability", "fit and finish", "performance" and "economy". The best engineers on the planet and enough money to BUY the island of Japan at the time were put second to staid business practices and complacency. What else COULD the outcome have been with the Japanese looking at business as "war" and the Big Three seeing it "As Usual".

Blatant stupidity, IMO. Now Daimler is "divesting" itself of the albatross with a $19B(!) deficit... b'-bye!

And THIS time there's no Uncle Lee at th' helm to influence an outcome. Can you say: "American Motors"?
