Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm dont try this at home?
I particularly liked the magnesium fires, iv seen more than a couple of those in my day. {the ones with the white sparks}
About all one can do with them is LET EM BURN! They will even burn underwater as seen at the end of this clip.
Again dont try this at home!

I remember another video clip similiar to this awhile back.It wasn't done with fires, but I remember tires and doo dads moving other parts etc.
I love these! I wish I could find that other clip.

That's the one!!! Thanks! T:smile:

That has got to be the most useless thing I've ever seen.

Today, our band director stoppped by my classroom with a garbage bag with several large chunks of dry ice and asked if I could find a use for it. I immediately shut down my lesson, pulled together some desks, filled up a bucket of cold water and showed the kids how you "bring cold water to a boil" They spent the next 40 minutes playing with the frozen CO2. Amazed that it would freeze rubber bands solid, freeze water, and could "burn" the skin if you touched it too long.
Basically, this video is like that...just playing with stuff to see what you can make it do is the best learning of all!
That was really fun! Thanks!

Pyros! hehehehehe.....
Reminds me of my favorite chemistry song

I like that video MUCH more! Mine was lame...
I liked the little VW hopping across over "Germanium" hehehehehehe....
right in the spirit of the "flaming Rube Golberg device" starting this thread!

A lot of fighter aircraft had Magnesium wheels back in the 60s. They were great being so light and strong, but when they blew a tire and the brakes were locked up, the friction would set the wheels on fire. The only way to put them out was with a special dry chemical that smothered them.
