Good question, maybe I should post this where the guy from Holland can see and translate! (In Spridgets forum I think - englishracer?)

I love reading Dutch, you can almost think you understand about 50% of it, hehehe!!!
 
He seems to have a blown engine during practice an so he didn't get a lap time and had to start from behind.

The engine for the race was new out of the box.

Driver is Mark Schmidt .... very fast ..... have a look:

He is in the very front, an me (red TR 4) on the very last position....was my first race, then.

Cool picture there Mad Marx!! Thanks for the info. I would say he is VERY fast judging by that brief clip!!! I wish we had coverage of that club racing from your side of the Atlantic! The most we get here other than big-league racing is occasional coverage of the German Touring Car races, British Touring Cars, etc. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

A little background info:

It was my first race ever.
I had a standard TR4 with racing tires and about 130hp. No changes to the suspension and an open diff.
At lap 4 I heard a big bang from behind and thought I might have lost a wheel but it was the spider gear shaft that was moving out of diff cage and hitting the cone wheel.

After finishing the race as 2nd in class the diff disassembled itself....har har.....I had to call the automobile club to pick me up and bring me home because I was there on my own axle.

I still drive to the track in the race car and hope that I can return home....not always I do. :smile:

Since then I had a gain in speed by copying tuning stuff out of the Kas Kastner book to my car.

This spring there is a HUGE race at Road America where the organizers have pitted Morgans vs. Triumphs vs. Austin Healey's. Should be interesting.
