The Kentucky Derby is the oldest continually held sports event in the United States (1875); the second oldest is the Westminister Kennel Club Dog Show (1876.)

You only listed one "sports event". What is the second?

Apparently whoever compiled these "facts" are calling the Westminster Dog Show a sporting event.

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:] There have been 140 meetings since 1852, which makes this year's event the 154th anniversary. There are three rowing competitions, one of which is the longest race anywhere. It's the Yale-Harvard Regatta and the next one is Saturday, June 10. [/QUOTE]
