Fully retractable radio antenna

I don't know if anyone is interested but I thought it was worth mentioning. Pep Boys sells a fully retractable antenna that is almost an exact replica of the OEM antenna that was on my Spitfire. Same shaft size and length, same tube size and length. Even the dressings around the mount to the fender were exact copies. The only difference was the top tip has a spot for the 2 little keys that they give you with it. Opens and closes nice and smooth all the way into the fender. Best of all...$11.99

Sounds like the same one I've had on my TR3A for many years. Looks good and works well. Doesn't really have a lock per se, the key just reaches into the hole and hooks the end so you can pull it up. Good for when you're putting a cover on the car.

Sounds like you can save considerably over the big three for the same item..

That's what I have on my '3 (except with a sort of flat 'key')... unfortunately the sheet metal behind the mounting hole on my '4 precludes using a fully-retractable antenna.

Either way -- sure looks better (to me) than one of those thick rubber jobbies that seem so common.
