Full day of work

He can't stay away from ~US~ no matter where he goes! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Heh, just posted a short up date. No LBCs spotted on the way up.

Hay Tony, that place near home where you said you saw some LBCs some years back, nothing now. All gone.

Got the head back with all new unleaded friendly valves, a shave and a lye bath.
Tomorrow is final rebuild day and start up.....
Did you see the before pics of the head? This is after anyway...

Look at that clean, shiny head. Very nice indeed.

You're so far ahead of me. My 1275 is still sitting in the Midget. Really need to roundup some friends (or at least bribe with pizza and beer) and get that out.

It's not a race Drew by any means, consider it clearing a "thread path" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif, besides, I need to finish this midget stat so I can get busy doing 'something' with the GT.

You're keeping me motivated, and that's a good thing.

Study Visard's book and concentrate on "squish points" and CC'n the chambers when the GT engine has it's turn, Barry!

Ahhhwahhh?? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gifThe Vizard book I have is for A series, do the same rules apply for 1800's? I don't have it handy right now, it's atop the valve cover squeezing gorilla snot onto the cyl head.

Need to line up a lift and a few friends for that.

[/ QUOTE ]

What the heck do you need a lift for? You gotta small block chevy in there?

Motor and tranny are a couple hundred pounds, and I'd like to keep my back intact for a few more years. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Vizard's book will apply. Very similar in design, A and B engines are.

...I'm startin' to sound like YodaTony... ack.

Well are is more correct than is.

IT'S OVER.
H-Hour will tomorrow at 0600.
I still think I'm forgetting something.....

Thank you all for getting me through this, talking me into it and being there for multitudes of questions.
Great bunch of chaps here.
I'll reserve my 'I'll buy all beer' until I actually hear this run, and it does so obediently.
CHEERS! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Looks really good, Barry. Good luck on the restart. Does your camera do video? We like movies. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I will have video running, if it's a successful start, I'll post it. If it's not, I don't think the language within will be 'appropriate'? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angel.gif

before you hit the starter

turn the motor over with a socket and ratchet on the crank pully. just make sure you dont feel something solid like metal to metal. you are way less likely to damage something with a wrench than with the starter.

edit: THAT MOTOR IS SO CLEAN! WOW!!!! I'M VERY IMPRESSED!!!! my jaw hit the keyboard when i saw that!!
