Fulcrum pins

Hi all, just removed the king pins from my 79 midget, and it was not fun!. I am replacing the fulcrum pins as well and have run into a problem. I can not screw the left fulcrum pin in more than about a quarter of the way. The pin fits the right side ok. Has anyone 'cleaned' out the threaded fittings by using a tap? If so, what sizes of taps are needed?

Thanks
Dave

Check the one that went in easy for slop. Most of the time I find that the a-arm is worn and the pin is ok. Go figure.
