Re: Fuel Tank

Dang Wayne, I'm not feeling ya.
Will have to see if the TRF blowup has it

Re: Fuel Tank

Nope , Not following you at all.

Re: Fuel Tank

I think Wayne is talking about the panel known as the "gas tank board".
Mine is screwed along it's perimeter into place. No clips,\; not saying others don't use clips, because mine is a replacement panel.

Re: Fuel Tank

Doh!!!
It holds the vent line for the emission tank that is on these early models

Re: Fuel Tank

does anyone know why the vent tubing makes a lap of the boot in the 6?

Re: Fuel Tank

The clip is for the Flux Capacitor.

Re: Fuel Tank

No, Don, and it appears the Triumph made a change in 72 due to a nylon tubing shortage on the island.

Re: Fuel Tank

I don't have any method of measuring this type of fitting
Do you think this is NPT?

Re: Fuel Tank

If it's smaller at the bottom than at the top, then yes. NPT threads are tapered for lack of a better word.

Re: Fuel Tank

Yup, it's 1/4" NPT (even though the actual thread diameter is closer to 1/2").
