TR4/4A Fuel tank sending unit - TR4

Hi all,

Does anyone know the operating range (ohms, I think) of a TR4 fuel tank sending unit? I'm wondering what, if any, aftermarket fuel gauges might be used with it.

Thanks!

Alan

I saw one item on a Stag forum that said the TR4 fuel gauge is zero to about 60-65 ohms. Actually I wouldn't be surprised if it was really 0 - 70 ohms, same as a TR3 (I realize that the gauge is slightly different due to the 10V voltage stabilizer).

Alan,
I finially can contribute something to this forum. I feel like one of the guys. I just went through this. The ohms are from 12 to 250 + or-. The units on e-bay or from Victoria British are the same. They work in reverse and have an ohm rating from 10 to 100 so only cover 2/3 of the gauge, even if you jury rig them by reversing the float. As usual Moss is the most expensive but it works. Thanks for the opportunity to contribute. Phil Brooks
