Well, my hopes for an inexpensive fuel tank solution have been severly undermined. The best I can do price-wise for a new tank is $160 for a new unvented, unbaffled repro tank with a $15 cap to make it sorta work like it's supposed to. I guess I'll either have to try and find the correct tank for my car and pay whatever the cost is or I'm back to cleaning up the tank I have. That $125 the radiator shop was asking isn't looking so bad now. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
 
For around $100 you can buy the full Hirsch fuel tank restoration system. It's considered the best by much of the car world. The Moss fuel tank products are Hirsch with a Moss label so that's another source to purchase it. I'm getting ready to do the tank in my TC soon with this stuff.
 
Call Scott Harper at Team Triumph (330.392.7176) - he can get you a late vented gas tank from his manufacturer in Canada...I don't know what he'll charge you as he charges me Moss dealer price since I'm a Moss distributor....but its the correct one for your car.

You are lucky to get one for under $200, I have a 69 Jag XKE with a gummed up tank, It sat with gas in it for 19 years. A new one is $950. I have a MG-TD and I hope that the tank is good. The TD is a basket case and I haven't checked the tank yet. G o o d L u c k

Barry - I have an extra TD tank that I cut open to look inside...no rust & it cold be rewelded/pressurized.
