Is there some way of venting the fuel tank other than taking the gasket off the filler cap? After replacing the hoses to the re-circulation device in the trunk that had basically rotted away, I thought I solved the gas vapor smell in the car and garage. Now after running for awhile there is such a vacuum created in the tank that at a certain point the fuel pump just runs and the engine dies from lack of fuel. There is obvious vacuum when removing the filler cap and then it runs fine. Is there some kind of one-way air intake valve that can be installed on one of the recirculation lines or is there a problem somewhere else in the system that needs correcting? I can find little information on the late model fuel system, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
