Which way does the fuel sender face wiring connection to the bulkhead or back of the car .
or does it go sideways ? Im thinking in relation to the float as to how it hangs inside the tank .

The float must face forward or gauge will show partly full when in fact tank is empty.
Ok so that’s electrical connection to the rear of the car ?

I heard some new senders have the electrical connection on the wrong side. Not important - the float must point forward in order to drop into the well at the bottom of the tank on empty. If the float is pointed backward, the float hangs up and doesn't descend all the way. One can run out of gas while still showing a partial tank on the gauge.
