my brother emails me that he wants a modern fuel pump for his '76 B instead of the stock one. I always thought the stock fuel pump was more than adequate. however, his money. what other options are there for fuel pumps?

The little in-line pumps that the auto parts store sell just don't seem to hold up well for me. I've had several go bad so (like you) I prefer to use the standard factory style SU pump. The drawback is getting the lines to seal on the factory style pump and if he is missing the lines (or the ends have been cut off) than going with a more modern style pump that only needs hoses to fit over a barbed end may be more practical. Unfortunately I can't recommend a "good" one - they just dont seem to last over time.
