any mos motor parts guys out there? called the company today about the right fuel pump and I think they're as confused as I am. What part number do I need to get a fuel pump with inlet and outlet on the same side, ONE vaccuum line and the ground on the post? Argh! can't get an answer.

Does "mos" stand for Moss or Midget or Sprite?
Mechanical or electic fuel pump?
What year, make, model car?
What fuel pump has a "vaccuum" line on it?
"We" need more input in order to give you an answer.
 
John, if you are working on the '72, it seems that Moss no longer carries the 377-165 pump, which was particular to the '72-'74 cars. It's an SU type AUF 305.
If you are looking at the "vacuum" connection on the cover, that is a vent valve.
The ground connection should be a spade terminal on the pump body.
If all else fails, Victoria British lists it as P/N 3-204.
I put one of these on my '72 a couple of years ago.

I have an aftermarket electric fuel pump that is mounted up in the rear axle tunnel near the tranny tunnel. Not "sexy" or original, but it is reliable and easy to access.
