FUEL PUMP / SUPPLY QUESTIONS......

Found Bugsy's Problem with Fuel Pump and delivery to the carbs. Yesterday I pulled the fuel filter on the top of my AIRTEX Pump, $51.99 at Advance Auto BTW, 3 psi and found it to be unblocked and open.

Drained and pulled tank, looks clean, no sediment, no rust, crap, went back to pump to check electrical connections. Power wire pulled off in my hand when I touched it. Evidently the fuel delivery issues were caused by improperly installed connections. Had my car in the local LBC Garage for some carb work and my local guy sure didn't do this the way it should have been done.

Pulled pump out of the car and powered from my battery charger and pump runs absolutely quiet however I can't detect a great deal of suction pumping air. It may be absolutely fine pumping fluids but to reassure myself I purchased a new pump, hoses, filter, and clamps. Out to the garage in a few to reinstall tank and pump. Bugsy wants to go for a run and so far this year has been stuck in the garage.

It's usually the simple things that need to be checked first when things go wrong. Soldering iron, heat shrink, well done electrical connections, and proper cable ties will get Bugsy going again. Thanks again to all who offered help and tips. Without this list to help me with my head scratching and problem solving I'd have given up on Bugsy years ago.

Hey got a chance to take Bugsy out for a test drive. Turned key, watched fuel filter fill up, heard float bowls fill and then float valves snap closed.Turned key and Vroom, Vroom. Oh I love that sound. Life is good once again.
