Tom - they may be referring to 'long-arm' pumps. I have seen two kinds of pump used, one has a longer lever-arm than the other. I believe the long-lever needs a spacer (about 1/4"-3/8" as I recall) between it and the engine block, so that the arm sits on the pump cam properly.tomshobby said:In the box was a note saying that if the pump is not installed with a spacer it could damage the cam and pump. Compare the one that came out with the new one. If the new one has a noticably longer arm, you may need a spacer to fit it properly.
