Fuel pump screen & gasket source

Peter - Years ago, I found a small hole in the screen from my fuel pump. I can't figure what would have done that. It looked as if someone (who?) might have shoved a tiny screwdriver throught the screen. Since I couldn't find a source for a new screen, I took my soldering iron and soldered the screen around the hole and webbed the solder to close the hole. It's about 1/4" diameter and while it may be decreasing the total flow area about 5%, I have had no issues.

Per a post on another TR list: gaskets, screens, bowls and bails are also available thru NAPA. These numbers were cited:

gaskets: BK7309506, BK7309510
glass bowl: BK7309509
screen: BK7302373
wire bail to hold the bowl: BK7309508, BK7309512

I have not verified this, just pass it along as some parts of the US (e.g. Arizona) do not have TSC but almost everybody has NAPA.

It is prudent to add an in-line filter, in addition to the integral screen and sediment bowl. Both TRA and VTR allow this (for concours judging), even though these cars did not include that feature from the factory.

Here's a set up that one of my Dutch friends has on his TR3A which combines a modern fuel cut-off valve and fuel filter. He is very pleased with the results.

The NAPA data should work. Those AC pumps were on TONS of vehicles.

As for that LOVELY TR3A photo, WOW!! Most workmanlike, Frank. Very nice!

Nice find.

FYI. When searching on the NAPA site put a space after BK.
