Anyone know where to get this filter from. This is the first one I've had that was nylon. Rebuilding the pump for my TR6 and discovered that this screen is all dried up and cracked.
The AC pumps filter screen was brass....those plastic ones are notorious for what you show..and worse.. disintegration.
If you have a fuel filter before the pump, you can delete the screen.
Ya I know its one of those repops Moss sells. Few years ago Moss said these were the best out there warranted for 2 years and seems to me it was around $50. Anyway installed it on my TR250 early summer then went to TRF summer party in August and it failed right after the auto cross. Less the 1k on it. Luckily one of my friends there had a electric back up pump that got me back to TRF and had to spend $100 on one of their's. Guess what I carry with me in my trunks now? Anyway that one has been in there for 5 years now and so far so good.
Poolboy I was thinking that same thing or using a piece of aluminium screen from my old porch door and make one. Not as fine but the pre-filter should get anything big.
Went to my local parts guy (Team Triumph) to see if Moss had one or if he had a used one. No to the first question and would not brake down a used AC pump. Said customers buy the used ones and he can't get enough of them. They prefer to rebuild them and use them instead of new repops. Can't be much different because your replacing the innards with repo stuff anyway. Don't know why I didn't think of it sooner but went home and checked my stash and found a pristine one.
