fuel pump question

ok, I'm sure this subject has already been covered but here goes...
the fuel pump on my BN6 is acting up so I thought I would buy a new replacement.
should I buy the standard SU pump or an electronic (pointless) pump?
and...is it possible to refurbish my old pump, which is not really that old?
what about the double header...is it worth the added expense?
any tips or problems I need to be aware of before doing the replacement?
any feedback would be greatly appreciated...thanks!

When I replaced mine I settled for the electronic version by SU, I did not have much success looking at the old unit. Regarding a double, I would have thought that you only need this if you are really using the juice, say with triple webers on the race circuit. Replacement of the single unit is straight forward, as mine was a BJ7 it was straight thro' the rear seat for access, but easily got at from below, just look out for fuel in the eye when uncoupling the banjo connections.
