Well, we cried and moaned and pointed fingers the past year
when gasoline got over $4.00 a gallon most places Stateside
and hit $5.00+ here in the islands.

Am I the only BCFer to notice my weekly gasoline cost has
fallen from $450 a week to under $100 a week? And I am a retired guy!!

I've got two Jeeps, one TR6 and one speedy tarpon boat.
For the first time in over a year, every one of my vehicles has a full tank.

I know it's dollars to Donuts but I could just not bring
myself to pump $80 into either Jeep for a fillup.

My boat I always keep filled due to the ethanol problem.

say I'm saying thanks to whomever got the cost of fuel lowered.

dale

I was thinking about this the other day when I filled up my ranger for under $30 and for $35 I was at almost 3/4 tank in the Expedition. I didn't want to jinx us by posting about it. I am very thankfull though.

$1.43/9 here today - felt good filling the big Dodge for $30.00 & change! I remember when I put $100.00 in it!

My goal this year is to put as much of my money bachk in my pocket as is possible - I'm reevaluating everything, phone, cable, electricity, etc.

...Thanks for a crashing economy!!?? Not sure about the "cost benifit ratio" there!

I believe Vince was talking about the gas pricing, for which we can all be thankful...

Let's not visit the economy issues here, OK?

Don't forget heating with solar. You are a man of action.

1. And please don't forget that taking brief cool water showers with one or more
friends can save a bundle on the hot water monthly costs.

2. Pick up shoes and other pieces of clothing from the side of the highway. Get
them cleaned and you save a bundle on new clothes.

3. Most restaurants change their table candles every night.
Arrive around 4:00 PM and ask for the candle stubs from the night before.
You'll save a bunch on lighting at home.

4. Cancel all the cell phones - Ma Bell is alive and well.

5. Cancel the cable - nothing good on TV anyway.

6. Purchase used laptop computers and scab wifi off your neighbors.

Just a few $$ cost saving ideas.

d

Yep, that's another way of putting more of my money back in my pocket! And I'm gonna find more as the year progresses - already found lots of "phantom" draws & either unplugged those items or put a on/off switch at the plug!

That's something else I'm looking at...Grundy guy is coming out after 1st of the year to look at a fleet policy since the majority of my cars are "garage queens".

I figure the prices will be low until the new pres. takes over, then they'll give him the hit too! I know it might not get as cold down there Tony, but I've been looking for a waste oil furnace for my garage. I figure with the Jags 9-12 qt sumps and the Rovers 7 qts, plus trans fluid, I should save a lot heating the garage.

Very strange indeed...

Gasoline demand has only dropped 3.4 to 5% depending one who you listen to. (US)

And world wide demand hasn't dropped that remarkably either.

Unfortunately...Racing season ended before the price went down...

I still have a full tank of rare, 5 dollar gas in the toe vehicle.
Don't trust it...I swear it smells funny

Does Grundy do that? We have 18 on insurance ( $2,700) but it is agreed value & they are very lenient on stipulations. No mileage clauses etc. That is Hagerty. Terry really doesn't drive them much & lately I haven't either. I just knew coverage was a necessity after Rita.

I'll let you know.
