Fuel Pressure Regulator

Can someone recommend a fuel pressure regulator for my 948 with a Facit electric fuel pump. There seems to be way too much gas coming into the carbs. What would be the proper setting for the regulator? Best location? The pump is just forward of the tank. Thanks, Bill
 
The best is to not put in a regulator but to get the correct Facet pump of 2-4 PSI

As above, it would be best is to buy a lower pressure pump. However, assuming you have a new pump and don't want to replace it, buy the Holley low pressure regulator. The best prices are typically on Amazon. You want to dial the regulator in to deliver between 2-3 PSI. I would mount the regulator at the front of the car, in the engine bay, just before the carbs.

This also had me wondering if the floats were properly set.
 
I use the Holey 12-804. .. 1 to 4 lb adjsutable. That way if the fuel pump fails, I can to to any auto parts store and pick up and fuel pump and be running again.

Whatever you do, don't use those cheap round things from the usual suppliers.... they're crap.

AGREED!

I had one on the GT6 several years ago. My wife called me from work saying that gasoline was pouring out of the car. The diaphragm had burst inside the pancake regulator. Fortunately I was able to buy enough fuel line at a local parts store to bypass the regulator for the drive home. Even more fortunate... the needle valves still closed well enough that the carbs did not flood on the way home.
