Guys,
Maybe not your regular source of info, but the latest issue of Hot Rod (January 2011) has a very interesting article about new technology in fuel lines. The name of the article is "When Good Hoses Go Bad".
Key note is that the newest evolution in fuel lines is PTFE. These are basically teflon and will not... ever... degrade. So you have new hoses in your Healey and you figure your good for the duration... since the original ones lasted for decades. The heads up is that today's fuel (over the last decade) has become a blend of so many additives and oxygenates that rubber hoses will go bad... period... and much faster than in the past.
Anyway, worth a read.
Cheers,
Steve
