Fuel level sending unit leak

Is there a recommended gasket goo to seal this smelly leak? Something that defies petrol?

Permatex <https://www.permatex.com/> makes at least a few different gasket sealers that stand up to gasoline. I believe their Form A Gasket 2, #300, and Hylomar will all work. Just don't use any Silicone type gasket sealers. It's best to buy a new sending unit cork gasket and the little gaskets for the screws and use the sealant on the screw threads too. The smell is annoying but I think the greater concern is the danger of fumes in the trunk along with the battery and cutoff switch ... Yikes!
