Fuel gauge

Anyone know what the voltage should be at the fuel gauge? In many cars there is a voltage regulator or limiter to reduce the oherwise 12V to something lower. I cannot find one in my old BN7 but I am loath to reconnect a newly rebuilt gauge if the volatge should be stepped down to some smaller value. Perhaps someone could measure the voltage at their fuel gauge and let me know?

I <span style="font-weight: bold">think </span>the MGA type is the same as in the Healey ...
Calibration is done with a 12V powerpack, so don't worry
