fuel gauge

It is adjustable with the two sliding nuts or what ever on the back, but be awful careful. Don't twist off the wire inside.

Ok,
The sending unit reads at 14 ohms when empty and around 100 at full. Obviously a huge problem. I was able to hook the sender up and watch the gauge. The problem is in the sending unit. I reads at 1/8 of a tank when empty and is incorrect as it goes towards full. Is there anyway to adjust the sending unit or is there a supplier that has a GOOD sending unit. I don't remember who I got this one through.
That does sound very odd indeed. I would think you need to remove that sender and look it over good. It is simply a wire wound resistor that has a slider that goes up and down it and varies the resistance.

Thanks Kim. And thanks for your offer of matching the two for me. I opened it up and think that I could possibly adjust the two nuts at the bottom of the unit that hold the pivot of the float. (Mouth full) Not a fine tune but it might just work. If I am to buy another which vendor would you recommend?

Mine from Moss works great.
