Fuel gauge sending unit

This handsome brute (the Healey that is) has a large fuel cell replete with a rubber bladder from its vintage racing days. I want to keep it as part of the rally style restoration project. However, as simple and as accurate as the wooden paint stir stick is for checking fuel level (when the car is stationary at least), I wouldn't mind being able to hook up the fuel gauge to monitor what's happening while on the move. Has anyone any ideas about a sending unit that I might adapt to this type of fuel tank? As always, thanks for the advice.
