Fuel Filter

Don't know about you, but I'm only getting about 2 years life out of fuel filters these days. Maybe that 10% ethanol helps form gums. The tank was cleaned & coated about 4 years ago, so it's not coming from there...

Try cutting one open, see what's in there?

I know the ethanol causes water problems (ethanol is hygroscopic), and water will cause the paper filter element to swell and block the flow of fuel, so I'd guess it is related to that.

Hasn't been an issue since I moved to SoCA, but when I lived in IN, we considered those filters to require annual replacement. Otherwise they were apt to clog up at the worst possible moment, usually in the rain (for some strange reason
