well im tryng to import to Holland
and they asked me tighten the fuel pump so I moved it down to the vertical wall behind the passenger seat and now it s noisier and pulsing the fuel like are heart. is it a issue with the Ground???

anoughter issue is my dutch girl friend is mad about alfa romeos

Likely the mounting. VW and Benz have mounting "bobbins" of rubber with threaded studs on each end wot work a treat for isolating the vibration noise. They're metric tho, so get nuts for 'em too.

No problem, you should be able to quickly demonstrate that your car can break down and rust with the best of the Italians

should i give it to my Girl freind to take to the RMV or wait a month till i can do it??

ok running to rich at the moment but thats not a big deal

here in holland they are telling me the vin number should be stamped in to the frame of the car and im saying its just the vin plate

any thoughs where a stamp would be
steve

Look on the right frame rail behind the shock & before the firewall - might be on top, side or bottom...might not be there at all.

nope two holes with paint from the previous paint job. but that would be another vin plate
they are looking for something etched or stamped into the frames metal

Yep - on some MG's it was stamped into the frame rail....I've usually found it under the paint, etc. on the side of the rail.

nope just checked a third time
on the diagonal frame rail before the shock just two holes for mounting a plate
but thats it

steve

Looking in Sprite and Midget Restorers Guide by Terry Horler on page 110 under the heading of Identification , dating and production they state "for HOME MARKET production, the chassis number was also STAMPED into the drivers side front footwell just in front of the jacking point crossmember. Not sure if this what they are looking for or not. This was taken out of a paragraph relating to the 72 73 Midgets. Don
