I stumbled across this just recently - holy cow!

 
That is one incredible story. Thank God the crew survived, even though they seem to have lifetime injuries. Makes one wonder how many more of those instances have happened in the past, only with disastrous results. PJ
 
What a coincidence. I was just watching that yesterday and I was going to post it but got side tracked.
 
Hair-raising story. As an ex-pilot myself (strictly small plane amateur), I was thrilled that they were able to maintain control and subdue the perp. Who knows how many unexplained accidents may have been this kind of stuff. As Bob Marten, FAA regional director once told me and a group of pilots attending a safety seminar, "People do some strange things with airplanes".
 
Amazing story. Sounds like Calloway got what he deserved or maybe a little light.
 
Giving the pilot and crew all the credit they deserve, it also gives credence to the structural strength of the DC-10! Went way over the designed structural limits and held together, not all aircraft could do that. :encouragement:
 
Wow, that is a heck of a story, it's a shame that none of the crew have ever recovered enough to be certified fit to fly.
