MGB-GT FS: 1969 MGB GT 64k miles, overdrive, a lot fresh.

Selling my blue 1969 mgb gt only because I was able to get my absolute dream car (1996 Porsche turbo).
Very low original miles on this great old classic sports car. There aren't too many with low miles like this one. Overall the interior is in pretty good shape. The original wood steering wheel looks great.
I have over $4000 worth of work done in the last 8 months.
Completely refurbished the brakes, front and rear. Rotors, calipers, pads, drums, rear brake wheel cylinder, shoes, brake lines. The pump was in good working order.
It has electric ignition and modernized 12 v. system.
the original su carbs have been overhauled with new jet needles, floats, float needles, K&W Filters
New fuel pump
New temp gauge
Re cored radiator
The car was thoroughly tuned up with all new hoses, belts, cap and rotor, plugs, fluids and lubricants. Great gas mileage on the highway with the overdrive.
The wire wheels look good and the tires are fresh. I would say they are still 75-80%. The previous owner put in polyurethane bushings and the original shocks are in great working condition. This car is a great example of a chrome bumper 69 gt in stock condition. Refreshed and ready to drive. Chrome looks great.
This is not a perfect car. The problems that I see with the car are the paint and the dash. The paint has been touched up in spots and has a couple of bubble spots. Overall it looks pretty good. I would say a 12 foot paint job. It looks good at 12 feet, any closer you can start to see the faults. The dash has two cracks in it. Not huge but they are there. It has a fresh carpet and the seats are in good shape.
I have my repair records but no previous books. The dealer that I bought the car from said that the previous owner was an older math professor at Stanford. He thinks that maybe he was the second owner. I may be the third owner.
All the work done here in SF at Johns Jaquar service.
Thanks for looking and I hope to find a nice home for this little baby.

I'd love to hear any opinions you all might have on the car.
Price? Places to market the car?
Seems to me that there aren't many looking to buy.
Any suggestions are welcomed.

Scott, photos are needed. Post a few photos of the car, interior, engine bay, and rust areas. Then you'll get some feedback.

Also, it would be helpful if you had results from a compression or leakdown test of the engine. Has the engine been rebuilt/replaced? How about the electrics? Has the car been rewired? Do all the electicals work?

Cars similar to yours can go for anywhere between several thousand to $10K or more. But, it's difficult to provide a good estimate without photos of the car.

Give us some pics, man. :yesnod:

Scot, can't see your photos.

In order to view the photos, we'd have to register. Don't wanna do that.

Post some pics here, it's easy.

Cheers. :yesnod:

OK, I'll give it a proper look.
doesn't look like I can do it on this page, so tomorrow I'll look at reposting and see if there are ways to post pics or attachments. Thanks for your input.

Well, I finally figured out how to post a pic. Here's my car.

GEESH! No pic, no price, what's next?
Really sorry about this botched attempt at posting this car. Yeah, I didn't put the price in by the looks of it.
Looking to get around $7800

Use Photobucket,
no fee and its free.

Hey guys,
This car is still with me and really needs to find a new home. I just can't have 3 cars anymore.
Offers?
Does anyone know the mg owners club? Would that be a good venue for me to sell?
Thanks.

I'd suggest BAT (as well as putting it in the proper classified section here).

https://bringatrailer.com/

Or reach out to these guys:

https://www.mgoc.org/

You can also try craigslist, but you may get inundated with low-ball offers.

It's funny; I have a wire-wheel,'69 MGB and I've been looking at 993s too.
Nice MG, but like you, I already have too many cars.

BTW-I have a hat signed by Brian Redman  (I always see him at our Jefferson 500 event).

Check with Jerry via Hendrix Wire Wheels. He used to work for Allen and is still around the shop quite a bit. I saw him at the Healey flea market this past weekend and he is looking for a MGB/GT.

Charlie

thanks for the two new ideas. I have sent an ad to the manager of the MGOC. Hopefully he places the ad soon.
I'll look into the other options.
Thanks again.

Alright everybody, new price.

$5500. Does nobody need a sweet little car for a very fair price? Is the market that bad at the moment?
Pass it on.
Thanks.

Where did you buy this?
WA?
Friend had one for sale many years ago and wondering??
