Frozen Distributor

I can't remove the distributor on my 69 B. It frozen solid. I sprayed it with PB Blaster & Kroil as best I can. You can't see if you are getting any into the joint. I have half a can of each on the floor under the car. I tried using a pry bar but can't get any real leverage. Broke one of the ears off the distributor cap holddown clip pin. So I don't want to try the pry bar anymore.

Anybody have any experience in trying to lossen the D--- Dizzy?

Take the bolt loose??

After loosening the bolt that keeps it from turning & it doesn't come out, remove the 2 7/16" bolts holding the bracket to the block....then, & everybody's gonna jump on me, bump the ignition...the distributor should jump out about 3/4"...but, when you get ready to reinstall it, make sure you static time the engine.

Hoboy. Will be more folks on in the morning, stand by till then.

Well, if you could get a small pry bar behind the bracket....

I got it out. The Kroil & PB Blaster finally set in. I got a nylon strap strap wrench that you can put a 1/2" socket wrench on it. That finally broke it loose.

Way to go! Perseverence pays...
