I just got a set of clear "Lucas" glass covers for the front turn signal lights to replace some cheap janky yellow plastic lenses that were on there. My question : are the bulbs supposed to be clear also? The bulbs that are in there right now are yellow. Should I keep the yellow or get a set of clear? Or is there some other "cool" opotion that old school hotrodders went with that I can get away with.. like blue maybe? I"ll go with whatever you gent's suggest.
 
Run the yellow until one dies then replace them both with clear. --elrey
 
Thanks Elrey,good idea and thats what I'lldo.What do you know about wire mesh snap on stone gaurd protecters. They said they're easy to install and come with instructions but didn't send the instructions. Two mesh stone gaurds and twelve little "L"shaped brakets with a bend in one end(I assume for the gaurd to snap into) and a screw hole at the other end,but no screws. Anybody got these on thier car? How do I install?
 
You had yellow lenses with yellow bulbs? My BJ8 phase 1 came (to me) with "bee hive" clear glass lenses with yellow bulbs. I'm told not original but I like it.
 
It originally had the glass "bee hive" clear lenses and one got brokeen. For a quick "get back on the road " fix I got the cheap crappy ones at pep boys a half block from my house. I just got around to ordering the new" right ones".
how about those stone gaurds? any insights?
 
I have yellow bulbs with clear glass behives. That,s what every car on the road has nowadays--seems safer to me. White is for backup lights, someone might think you're backing up if you just had your parking lights on.
 
Check your local state laws about correct color on turn signals. Many states require yellow for fronts, either the bulb or lense.
 
Hi All,

The BJ8P1, consistent with previous models, came with clear beehive lenses and clear bulbs. The yellow first came with the initial P2s with plastic lenses.

The headlight stone guards brackets are installed between the headlight mounting ring and the rim. The clip hook on the back edge of the mounting ring and is held in place by the rim. The stone mesh shield snaps in place and pushes the bracket to further pivot it securely behind the mounting ring.

If you're looking for options, I replace my clear bulb with a bulb that looks clear, actually has a very slight blue tint to it, but it lights up amber. So my front directional looks stock, clear lens, clear bulb, but lights up amber.

Another option instead of the wire mesh to protect your headlights, is a clear film, like the clear bra's, only a lot thicker than clear bra.

Aushly, I've seen this vidio and watched it a bunch of times before. I didn't know it was you. Love your car and ALL the cool 007 upgrades!! Someday doun the road I hope to start adding some of your ideas to my 61hly 3000. Right now I'm focused on front bearings and getting everything back together so I can just drive again.
as far as the chrome mesh guards, I just like the extra bling factor :smile:

I agree with Donny and am impressed with your creativity and the subtle presentation of your alterations. Your choice and integration of the modifications reflects the path I have always followed in that any of my modifications must appear integral to the original design to the common observer. Your modifications have achieved that in spades.

Superb job.

By the way, how did you keep your garage and its floor so clean?

Hi Rich. Here's the details:

Top bulb package reads, 3057A/3547A ST, bottom reads 1157A....same bulbs.

I do have a question for the guys here. These are listed as 27 watts. What is the Healey stock bulb wattage?
