Front tire dia. ?

I am wondering what kind of front tire dia. do 100/4's run, looking at photos, there seems to be a wide range.

Since my Healey Chevy has 6" rims and 225/50/15 on the front, these tires end up with a tread width of 8.5" way too wide and I hate them. I want to keep the rims, but go narrow as possible on the tread width. If I go to Dunlops ( same make as rears) 205/60/15 I can get a 6" tread width but the dia is 24.5" vs the 23" I have now. Is 24.5" in the ballpark? Would I nave clearence problems? Rears are 225/60/15 and are just fine.

Thanks!!

I think it only varies now because the tire profile heights of the tires currently manufactured are lower than the originals.

A quick look on Tirerack’s website (a BCF supporting vendor) a 195/70 15” I looked at has a 25.8” diameter and fits a 5”-6” rim. If you are only replacing the front tires at this bend in the road, you may want to match the diameter with what you have at the back of the car.
