vertical link will not screw in more than 3 to4 threads to lower trunnion tryed grease no luck, threads in fine to old trunnion. purchased part from reputable supplier.

When I restored my car 3 years ago, I had to send back 3 sets of trunions for issues like you are experiencing. My problem was the threads in the trunnion were more sloppy than the original trunnion I was replacing. It sounds like the machining precision of the new trunnions still has not been addressed...
 
I just installed a new set of trunnions on a TR3. They were from TRF and fit fine onto the vertical link.

You may also have a bent verticle link, look closely at the shaft and see if you can detect anything. My TR4 had that issue, would not screw all the way in - it was bent.
