Front Suspension up-date – Good News finally!

[ QUOTE ]
Thats quite a feat! Wondering why you used polyurethane bushings and not the V8 bushings? Also, I have an uprated sway bar on the front of my '73 B. It makes a big difference. Maybe you should try it.

Thanks Bert,

I haven’t really considered an uprated sway bar – maybe at some point later down the road (Opps? Pardon the pun?). Right now I am quite satisfied with the drastically improved results.

As for why I chose the Energy Poly Bushings over the V8 Bushings? Well I really didn’t so much decide against them as I bought the entire front & rear bushings kits.

But it is my understanding that the Polyurethane bushings are far superior to the V8 bushings. This is because the V8 Bushs are basically factory Rubber (& Steel) upgrades for the MGB GT V8.

So if it is a question of Rubber vs., Polyurethane? I’d take the Poly any day. Far more firm than the rubber and the best part is these will probably out last my car.

But that's just me. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

RE: rack lubrication

Thought I'd put my 2 cents in here. Let's be logical for a moment. Gear oil will coat the rack ok but eventually it drips off and collects in bottom of tube, in the gaiters and WILL find a seep hole or just linger and deteriorate the gaiters. And please tell me how it goes UP to lube the tie rod ball end. Personally, I have always used grease. It stays in place and will outlast your gaiters. Dont forget to lube the balls on both ends.
